Week 1: 1 Peter 1:1–12
Chosen & Called in Difficult Times
Pastor Cindy Grasso opens the Living Hope in Difficult Times study with a powerful reminder: even in hardship, we are chosen by God. Through Jesus’ resurrection, we’ve been born into a living hope—an inheritance that can never fade. Though trials may grieve us, they are refining our faith, not destroying it. Our faith, more precious than gold, results in praise, glory, and honor when Christ is revealed. This week’s message invites us to rejoice in what’s eternal: our identity in Christ, the power of God’s mercy, and the promise of salvation. You are chosen. You are held. And in Jesus, you have a living hope that anchors you in every storm
Week 2: 1 Peter 1:13–25
Set Apart with Purpose
in Difficult Times
In Week 2 of our Bible study, Pastor Cindy Grasso walks us through the call to holiness not as a religious performance, but as a relational response to the grace we’ve received. Through 1 Peter 1:13–25, we’re reminded that holiness starts in the mind, flows from our identity in Christ, and is lived out in love. We’ve been redeemed not by silver or gold, but by the precious blood of Jesus, and that truth changes everything. Holiness isn’t about perfection—it’s about being set apart by God and living from that sacred place of belonging. This week’s message invites us to reframe what it means to be “holy” and challenges us to boldly live as women who are chosen, loved, and called with purpose. Jesus is our living hope and He empowers us to live set apart in every season.
Week 3: 1 Peter 2:1–10
CHOSEN TO LIVE LOVED
in Difficult Times
In this week’s message, Pastor Cindy unpacks the truth that living loved begins from within. Through 1 Peter 2, we’re reminded to lay aside old patterns—like envy, deceit, and slander—and instead crave the pure nourishment of God’s Word. We are called living stones, being built into a spiritual house. We are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, and God’s special possession—not by performance, but by mercy. Living loved means embracing your new identity in Christ, knowing you belong, and letting that truth transform how you think, love, and live—especially in difficult times. Jesus is our Living Hope. And through Him, we are called out of darkness and into His wonderful light.
Week 4: 1 Peter 2:11–25
Submission and Strength
in Difficult Times
In this powerful message, Pastor Cindy Grasso challenges us to rethink what submission really means. Far from weakness, submission is a sign of strength—a choice to trust God fully, even when life feels unfair. Through 1 Peter 2, we learn that we’re called to live differently from the world around us—honoring others, doing good, and staying true to who we are in Christ. Like Jesus, we can endure suffering without retaliation, knowing that God sees and will judge justly. True strength isn’t found in control—it’s found in surrender. You are not forgotten. You are held by the Shepherd and Overseer of your soul.
Week 5: 1 Peter 3:1–22
Thriving Relationships
in Difficult Times
This week’s message reminds us that thriving relationships aren’t built in comfort; they’re refined through love that holds steady in difficulty. In 1 Peter 3, we’re invited to live with gentleness, respect, and compassion, trusting that our beauty and strength come from the unfading hope of Christ. When our hearts revere Christ as Lord, our lives begin to mirror His grace, even in the hardest moments. Jesus is our living hope, and His love transforms every connection we have.
Week 6: 1 Peter 4:1–11
Living Intentionally
in Difficult Times
In 1 Peter 4:1–11, we’re reminded that following Jesus changes how we live—especially when life is hard. This week, Cindy Grasso unpacks what it means to live with purpose and focus in the midst of challenge. We’re called to face suffering with Jesus’ attitude, to keep an eternal perspective, and to use our God-given gifts to serve others. When we live this way, even difficult seasons become opportunities for God’s glory to shine through us.
Week 7: 1 Peter 4:12-19
Refining Fire
in Difficult Times
In1 Peter 4:12–19, Peter reminds us not to be surprised by life’s fiery trials. God doesn’t use suffering to punish us, but to purify our hearts and strengthen our faith. Together, we discovered that while not all suffering comes from God’s will, He faithfully walks with us through every hardship. This session encouraged us to trust that Jesus already carried our judgment and punishment on the cross, so even in pain, we can live with hope and purpose. The fire that tests your faith can also refine your character.
Week 5: 1 Peter 5:1-14
Standing Firm
in Difficult Times
In the final week of the Living Hope in Difficult Times study, Cindy Grasso walks through 1 Peter 5:1–14 and reminds us that faith is not just about enduring hardship—it’s about standing firm in the grace of God. Peter encourages believers to lead with integrity, walk in humility, and resist the enemy with unwavering faith. No matter what challenges come, God promises to restore, strengthen, and steady those who trust Him. As you listen, let this message ground you in the truth that you are deeply cared for and protected by the God of all grace.
